Early Life and Military Service
John Eric Menges was raised in a small town in West Texas, grounded in a strong Christian faith and family values. Before reaching the age of eighteen, John made the decision to join the United States Marine Corps. While serving with HMLA 169 Vipers, he participated in significant military operations, including Desert Storm and Desert Shield, as well as the
United Nations Operation in Somalia (UNOSOM) during the country’s civil war, which was marked by intense conflict between warring drug factions.
Commitment to Country and Community.
As a combat veteran, John developed a profound love for his country and a deep respect for his fellow service members who have fought to preserve the nation’s freedoms. After completing his service in the Marines, John returned to Texas, where he currently resides.
He is happily married to his wife, Michele, whom he has known since the age of six. John is also a small business owner and maintains an active role in his church community.
Dedication to Helping Veterans
John’s experiences as a combat veteran have given him a unique understanding of the challenges veterans face when transitioning from elite military units to civilian life.
Motivated by a desire to support his fellow veterans, John pursued training in Peer-to-Peer counseling and became certified in this field. Seeking a platform to reach and assist other combat veterans, John helped establish this non-profit organization, viewing it as a
meaningful way to give back and support those who have served.

Born and raised in a small west Texas town in Scurry County where a handshake meant
everything. I have been fortunate enough to serve on multiple boards including several not for profit where I have been able to help the youth in our community.
After a forty-year career in the oil field chemical industry in West Texas's Permian Basin,
I am now retired. Currently, myself along with my wife Rhonda, my son, daughter and 4 grandkids operate a farm and Ranch in Scurry County. I have always enjoyed being outdoors, whether for work or hunting and fishing.
We are very blessed to live in a country where we have freedom of religion, expression and a chance to live the American dream. We also understand that this would not be true if it wasn’t for the sacrifices of all the men and women that have served and are serving in our armed forces. Many have given their lives so that we can live free.
I never served in the military, but I do feel the need to give back. We have been blessed in so many ways, and we enjoy giving back to those who have served. This is our chance to share what we love, The Great Outdoors.

combat tour while assigned to the Naval Criminal Investigative Service

U.S. Department of State, Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA) South
Central, Iraq.
After returning from Iraq, Chris continued serving with NCIS by providing

Upon being honorably discharged from active duty in 2006, and in
continued support of the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT), Chris
embarked on a career as a Security Contractor with the Central Intelligence Agency in Afghanistan, and later as a Side-by-Side (SBS) Officer conducting human intelligence (HUMINT) operations in Northern Iraq.
After leaving the CIA for the private sector in late 2021, he coordinated and
managed various training evolutions for members still serving within the
intelligence community. His combined military and CIA experience laid the foundation for his commitment to supporting fellow service members and their families.
